Johnson, a native of Truckee, Calif., took home the silver medal in the first ever Winter X Skiing Slopestyle competition at Winter X Games VI. He followed that up by winning the Big Air competition at the 2002 U.S. Open. He was also nominated for Male Skier of the Year at the 2002 ESPN Action Sports and Music Awards. Between his hectic competition schedule and showing up in Aspen to compete in Winter X Games VII, CR has been busy. candide: Are you happy with the amount of press skiing gets or do you feel that it is being overshadowed by the other winter sports? CR Johnson: skiings press gets better and better but i don't understand how in one year moto is way bigger than skiing. it is a summer sport
shaun: I'm a snowboarder but I admire your style ... how much snowboarding do you watch and who is your favorite? Are you better than Shaun White? C'mon!! CR Johnson: i enjoy watching snowboarding more than skiing and i take some influence from it. my influence comes from marc frank but my favorite is romane demarci, if that is how you spell his name
Whistler: How is Evan Rps doing? ACL tears are pretty brutal. CR Johnson: he is taking it like a man
Loren: What do you do in the summer to get ready for ski season? CR Johnson: ride a bike, stretch, play golf

nick: who gets better chicks? snowboarders or skiers? From the looks of it, I'd say boarders....... CR Johnson: skiers get snowboarder chicks that is all i know

Whistler: Is Mammoth better than Whistler to train at? As far as Parks and Pipes. CR Johnson: mammoth is the best int the world and i am not biased
Boulder: what is your favorite part of skiing: jumping/rails/bumps/powder etc? CR Johnson: in order from favorite to least.

Whistler: Also, what 3 competitions per year do you consider the most important? CR Johnson: x-games, us open, WSI or WSSF what ever ya call it
Grand Forks: Hey what's up? How many girls do u get in one night? CR Johnson: depends on what time you consider the night starting.
dever: Do you ski the mountain ever or do you just work on your freestyle? CR Johnson: i ski way more that i do freestyle but we take our snowmobiles into the back country instead of going to the resort
Jessica: Who is the best roommate? And who is the stinkiest? CR Johnson: evan is the best roommate because he is the most reliable but tanner is probably the most fun
Lad: R u gay? CR Johnson: hell no...so don't get excited
Boulder: What do you think about Armada crew and what they're doing? CR Johnson: if they succeed they will open the door for rider owned companies. they all have to be prepared to work their asses off
john: CR you #$%%ing rule dude, Seriously good on ya. Taking skiing far. Do you think in the next few years we will get as much in endorsments as snowboarders CR Johnson: not over the next few years and not even in the near future. but if we can change the face of skiing to be young and cool, we will influence more people, sell more stuff, and make more money...sounds good huh
Sara: Do you wish you got on that Armada team? Where you asked or was there already tooż@many? CR Johnson: i am glad i am not on the armada team because being at the top of salomon is too stable of a position and took a long time to get here. if i was on armada i would not be able to be number one on the team because everyone is sitting back seat to tanner

Central Square: Whats up CR? With the all new progression within skiing, why does it seem like a constant feud between everyone on what justifies style and what justifies a good skier. Most of the press about this is coming from pros and it seems a little hipocritical on the part of many pros because everyone has been preaching resistance to FIS and their strict classifications but yet, many pros are arguing amongst themselves or through magazine articles on what is stylie and what is not. I was just wondering your thoughts on this. Jess: JR.. if you were snowed in at a mountain cabin, what would you want with you? CR Johnson: hot chicks and hot coco
darksides: what mountain do you think offers the best new school and big mountain skiing? CR Johnson: mammoth for sure
Joe: CR I have your old pair of Cusoon 1080 with the huck doll stickers on them I got from Meg. She ripped me off, those skis are soo worked when I bought them. CR Johnson: at least they got history
Denver: What did you think of the Vans 3 crown and that gap at Breck. I know you are not a snowboarder but that was crazy. CR Johnson: havent seen it but vail's is sick

Matt: hey man, I heard that the whole salomon line changed for next year, and they say the skis are gonna be sick, I wonder if you can give me any feedback on that and just wondering if they repaired the delaminating problem, thanks CR Johnson: we are making new proto types each month, so it changes but the ones i have now are the best pipe ski that no one will make for a while
