Snowboard - Keir Dillon (East Shroudsburg, Pa.)
Keir Dillon has come a long way since riding the mere 400 feet of vertical at his local ski resort Camel Back Mountain, Pa. A leader in transition riding, Keir now earns huge media coverage at international halfpipe and quarterpipe contests worldwide. Keir incorporates amplitude, fluidity, and technical finesse into all of his runs, a combination that has won over judges and fans alike.

Keir has gotten used to his bird's eye view of the crowd.

Keir is coming off a great 2002 season, finishing in the International Snowboarding Federation's top 10 and capturing bronze in last year's SuperPipe competition at Winter X. He also finished second in both the quarterpipe competition at the U.S. Open in Stratton, Vt. and in the halfpipe at Grand Prix #4 in Breckenridge, Colo.

A strong advocate for snowboarding, Keir says: "I like snowboarding for snowboarding, more than snowboarding trying to be skateboarding." He wants to stand on top of the podium again at Winter X VII in order to help the future of the sport. "I want to go there and do my job and touch as many kids as I can to show what's possible in snowboarding," he says. "Everyone benefits…me, the kids, my sponsors, and my family."

He recently started a clothing company (Dillon Design) with help from stepsister Kim, a fashion designer, and girlfriend Julie, who is in marketing. Keir hopes that this will enable him to spend more time with them.
