Day 1

As usual I was running late for the airport. I made a mad dash to Twitch's house so that I could get a ride to the airport. Barely making my flight, I was off to the official site of the Winter X Games in Aspen, Co. While in Denver I ran into none other than the sickest snowboarding couple around, Tara Dakides and Kevin Jones. The flight to Aspen was quick and painless.

Once I got all checked into the hotel it was shower time and then off to see the town. We headed downtown to pick up a few necessities at the local "convenience store" where $33 doesn't buy you very many beers. I was amazed at how many dead animal carcasses were on display in shop windows. I mean there is a lot of fur crap here.

So, the crew headed out for dinner. We had our $7 salads and $20 entrees and decided it was time to find a watering hole. Many Jacks later we ended up in some weird velvety bar, snapping many photos and then staggering to a snack shack. Some strange man bought me a hot dog. One fast cab ride later I was snug as a bug in a rug back at the hotel.

Day 2

Well, morning came quick and I felt as if I'd been hit by a truck. After a much needed hot shower and a cup of coffee I was good to go. We got on the shuttle and the highlight of my morning was seeing these two old ladies in front of me with what I thought were dead cats on their heads. Turns out it was just another fur fashion statement. I spent most of my day laminating (yeah, real hard job) and then headed out to check out the jump.

Course builder Dirty Dane Herron hit the 95 ft. gap to test the waters so to say. After a bit of grooming we called it a day. Time to see what kind of trouble we could drum up again.

Julie and Ginger get down at Shooters

The night began at Shooters, where lucky us, it was disco night. The Forum team was present and in full effect. Lurking in the shadows was Kevin Jones. We ended up taking the party elsewhere, heading over to a quaint little place. After closing down that bar we raided Super Agent, Steve Astephen's mini bar. I'd hate to see his bill when he checks out.

Day 3

Much needed Advil came to the rescue. I was lucky I didn't have to be to the venue until later so I arrived somewhere around noon. The guys started rolling in. After getting everyone settled we began making plans for the evening. Oh yeah, round 3 p.m., time to do it all over again. The game plan was Karaoke at the Grottos. Tes, the Karaoke Master opened up with the crowd favorite, War Pigs. The bar was completely packed. The smooth soulful sounds of Sal Masekela had women begging for more.

Tes leads things off in the Karaoke arena.

The men certainly outnumbered the women, not that I was complaining, but I know that Deegan and Pastor would've been happier with a little more eye candy. Pastor and I almost had our Colorado Water Fight again. I would've taken him down, if only I could've reached the soda gun. To be quite honest, I am a bit fuzzy on how the night ended. Last thing I remember is being at the snack shack again and then trekking back in the cold ass snow. Hooray for Advil ... I should own stock in them.

Day 4

Waking up is hard to do, especially when it's freezing cold and your head feels as if it could implode at any time. Early morning call for me ... it was the first day of practice. I headed to the mountain, wrangled the riders up and gave it the green light. Moto in the snow has officially started. Things were going well until Dan Pastor hit the hard packed snow and got pummeled by his bike. As of now, it appears he has a broken shoulder and is out of the competition. One rider down and 11 to go!

Log on daily for My X-Perience, fresh pics and to find out the fresh dirt on all your favorite riders. Until then, ride it hard like a champ!

Peace Out, Ginger
