Winter X Games VI
ESPN’s Winter X Games VI, the signature winter action sports event, will be held at Buttermilk Mountain, an Aspen Skiing Company resort, January 17-20, 2002.
The event features the talents of more than 350 of the world’s best athletes competing in Moto X, Skiing, Snowboarding and Snowmobiling. The event will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports beginning February 1, 2002.
An exciting roster of sports was selected for Winter X Games VI, promising four action-packed days of competition. Skiing Slopestyle and SuperPipe competitions are new to the Winter X Games. Big Air competitions for Skiing and Snowboarding will not be included in this year’s event. Following is a list of sports and disciplines to be featured in 2002:

Aspen Skiing Company operates the four mountains in the Aspen/Snowmass area- Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk - as well as the award-winning Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen.
