Chat with Kerry August 17th at 3 p.m. ET.
Welcome to the EXPN.com moderated chat room. On Saturday, August 17th at 3 p.m. ET Philly loc and skateboard destroyer Kerry Getz dropped by to host a special X Games VIII chat.

Kerry has been keeping busy this year traveling with friends and living the skateboard dream. Being the man about town, the X Games must be a unique time for Kerry to catch up with friends he hasn't seen in a while. We're lucky to have him take time out of his busy schedule to chat with you.

Kerry won last year's X Games VII Skateboard Street and caught up with our crew at his shop Nocturnal. So read the following transrcipt of Kerry's chat to see what he had to say.

Please check our upcoming chat schedule for your chance to chat with other X Games VIII athletes.

Moderator: Hello everyone, Kerry is running a little late but will be here shortly. Thanks for your patience, we should get started here pretty soon.

Moderator: Thanks for waiting, Kerry is here now so we'll get started.

Getz Inspired: What bands do you listen to before you go skate out in the streets?

Kerry Getz: Mainly hip-hop music. Live Eminem and Method Man type stuff. And some Ja Rule, he gets me hyped.

Kiah, Lebanon: Wuzup hot stuff. Check it. Me and my gurl was just wonderin if u got a chick. So do u like the chocolate? Have u ever gone out w/ the chocolate? Cuz if u do then we can hook up. U straight from philly so I know u down like that. U know u cant resist the chocolate so just give in and have some. ~xxx/ooo~ kiah

Kerry Getz: You know I've always wanted to date a black girl, but right now I'm tied up.

Jesse NYC: What is it like running Nocturnal Skate Shop,do people come up to you and ask for your board and things like that?

Kerry Getz: I don't run the shop. My co-owner Tim Quinn runs it. Him and John Wilk are the guys that are usually in there all the time making sure things go right.

Stockbridge: Who did you look up to when you were first skating?

Kerry Getz: Eric Koston, Mike Carrol and Rick Howard.

Upland: In a old Transworld magazine interview on you, you talked about times that you really got hurt. What is the worst injury you have had from skating besides the time you broke your ankle on the water dock gap?

Kerry Getz: I never really had any serious injuries but I have had my share of bruised heels, rolled ankles and sprained wrists. All the other serious injuries weren't from skating, they were just from stuff that happened to me growing up. Like a motorcycle accident.

GETZ INSPIRED: IF I GO TO PHILY CAN WE GO SKATE THAT WAREHOUSE TYPE SKATEPARK THAT YOU SKATE IN THE VIDEO CLIP ON HABITAT SKATEBOARDS.COM?

Kerry Getz: Maybe if I meet you and we're going there, you know what I mean? I've taken kids there before that have come into town, but the time has got to be right.

George Blankin (Jenkintown, PA): Do you truely believe that the ciy of Philadelphia will construct a free public skatepark resembling LOVE?

Kerry Getz: I doubt it but maybe they will build some more skateparks.

Las Vegas Skater: Kerry When is the New Habitat/Alien Workshop/Seek Video gonna be Done? Is there gonna be a teaser at ASR in a couple of weeks? Later.

Kerry Getz: Most likely around the Christmas season.

East Haddam: Hey Kerry you are an awesome skater I wish I could skate like you do. How long have you been competing as a skater?

Kerry Getz: About 4 years.

Nyack: Do you feel angery because of this?

Kerry Getz: Yeah it pisses me off and is making me almost want to leave the city. But hopefully the city people will come together and build some insane parks like Louisville.

Matthew Just Brisbane: Where was your favorite place you have been for a contest or demo?

Kerry Getz: For a contest my favorite is Tampa, and for a demo my favorite spot was Houston, TX when I was on the Tony Hawk Tour.

GeTz#1: Hey who do u think is one of the big am's that are gonna be comin up in the future?

Kerry Getz: It was Paul Rodriguez but he's pro already. But I think Pete Eldridge, who lives in Philadelphia, is skating really well and will come up.

Lubens Fortere,Nyack: How do you think of the Tony Hawk tour? Did you meet new people?

Kerry Getz: Yeah I thought it was one of the best tours I'd been on and I got to meet all kinds of different people.

Fontana: How many years of skating did it take you to get good enough to be sponsored?

Kerry Getz: Damn, about ten years I guess.

Las Vegas Skater: What do you think of the new talent coming out of Vegas i.e. Vinny Vegas,Ragdoll,Matt Ball,etc...

Kerry Getz: I think they all rip and are all good skaters.

Scranton, PA: Yo Kerry you are my favorite street skater. I have been skating for a couple months and I can't land a kickflip. I know how to do it I just have a lot of trouble landing it. Do you have any advice for me?

Kerry Getz: Just watch the way people set their feet up in videos and stuff then keep practicing... That's the best way to learn it.

Will: Hey Kerry if you weren't a skater what do you think you would be doing?

Kerry Getz: Working at some crappy job somewhere.

Matt B: Do u ever go back to your hometown Lehighton and skate?

Kerry Getz: Not really to skate, mostly just to go see my family.

Aaron Horvath, Greensburg PA: What do you think about the recent closing of LOVE park?

Kerry Getz: It sucks.

Adrian Harwood (Seattle, WA): What is the question that you would like kids to ask you on these pro interview things, and what is your answer to it?

Kerry Getz: I wish people would ask me more about cars. I'm super into cars and stuff and I would like more people to know about my intrest in that. Like my new M3.

Al Porto : Wasup Kerry do u ever get scared when u r skateing like grinding down 40 stairs?

Kerry Getz: Every time I roll up to a rail I get scared. I hate doing it I'd rather just skate some mellow and fun skatepark.

Scranton, PA: Wha do you think of Vipers (the cars)?

Kerry Getz: It's a pretty sick American car and I'd like to drive on some time. Then I can know more.

Jimbo: Do you still have your Audi? Or do you just rock the M3? Have you driven Bam's Ferrari yet?

Kerry Getz: I sold the Audi, I have an M3 and a Lexus IS 300 and yes I have driven the Ferrari. I wish I had one of those.

Paul: I've heard your into bmw do you like the z3 design? Personally its ok but I'd rather have a new m3 they are totaly sick. What do you think?

Kerry Getz: I agree.

Mike, Philly: If u had to pick a car to drive, what would it be and why?

Kerry Getz: A new M3. I love my car and it's one of the best cars. Or a '95 Ferrari 355 Spyder in Charcoal Gray.

BOB (Scranton): What skate park do you like to skate best?

Kerry Getz: Brian Schaefer's park in Tampa.

TOUCH: WHAT KIND OF RIMS ARE YOU ROCKIN?

Kerry Getz: 19" Hamann PG3s.

Shannon: Kerry, you're so hot. Do you mind people saying that?

Kerry Getz: No not at all, thank you.

StRiTeR0, Brazil: Do u think that de brazilian skaters are so good?? and what is your favorite brazilian skater??? I COME FROM BRAZIL, I LOVE THIS COUNTRY.

Kerry Getz: Yeah, Brazilian skaters are some of the gnarliest skaters out there right now. My favorite is Rodrigo TX.
