You've won a lot of big events like the National Championship and World Championship, how does winning the X Games rate?

Emily: Everybody around the world knows what the X Games is. To take home the Gold has been a huge goal of mine. When I heard that I won I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. I'm speechless.

You and Dallas Friday have owned women's wakeboarding over the last two years. Still, it seems that neither of you have had great runs on the same day during a competition. Today, you both went out and nailed big passes.

Emily: Winning when other girls fall is never as rewarding as winning when everybody goes out and rides well. Having all the pressure on me after Dallas went out and killed her run makes this win even bigger.

When Dallas Friday came on the scene, she was the girl to beat, and everybody had to up their game. You seem to have taken that challenge.

Emily: It's great to receive the respect and appreciation of those around you. Dallas is an awesome rider, and training with her has made me a better rider. Even though I've won today, I know she is my competition and she will be there as long as I am.

You had a great year in 2001, winning the Pro Wakeboard Tour, the Nationals, Worlds and finishing second at the X Games. But this year you look even better.

Emily: I've been training a lot. Cross-training has helped me a lot to get stronger and more healthy. Wakeboarding all the time is my passion, it's what I love to do.
