Street Luge
Organizer: International Gravity Sports Association Location: Falls Road, Fairmount Park Super Mass
Some think Street Luge evolved from skateboarding and lugers from Oregon to Austria claim to have pioneered the sport; however, no one is certain from where the sport first evolved. Super Mass street luge begins with 30 racers each taking two qualifying runs for an overall ranking. The top 24 racers will qualify for the Super Mass competition. Racers fly down winding city streets, hay bails lining corners, their speeds reaching in excess of 70mph. Only three out of the six in each round will advance, this continues until the final six race for the podium.
