Asian X Games Qualifier and Junior X Games presented by TOYOTA
As the Asian X Games Qualifier presented by TOYOTA moves into its third year, over 250 of Asia and the world's top alternative sports athletes will converge upon Thailand to compete for prize money, medals and the most coveted prize of all-a qualifying place in the 2001 summer X Games in the U.S. Asian X Games Qualifier have become a hit new event in-and-around the Pacific Rim drawing competitors from Australia, Asia, as well as the States. The competition will once again be held in Phuket Island, Thailand, the Asian equivalent of San Diego, CA, and will feature top level competition in the sports of: • Aggressive In-Line Skating: Park, Vert, Vert Doubles • Wakeboarding • Sport Climbing: Bouldering, Speed (male and female) As well as exhibitions in the sports of: • Bicycle Stunt: Park, Vert, Flatland • Skateboarding: Park,Vert A total of 6 hours of programming will be distributed world wide by ESPN's International affiliates and ESPN Star Sports. Junior X Games presented by TOYOTA After the huge success of the inaugural Disney Channel/ESPN Junior X Games presented by TOYOTA in 1999, 2000 will see the return of the Junior X Games in an even bigger way. The Junior X Games will provide three days of competition for children aged 10 to 14 from twelve different countries throughout Asia Pacific. They will compete in events modeled after the X Games. The three day Junior X Games will include clinics and X Games workshops with professional X Games athletes. The competitions will use modified ramps, smaller climbing walls and a mini-halfpipe. The prize; an all inclusive trip to Disneyland. A total of 14 disciplines from 4 sport categories will challenge today's up-and-comers and tomorrow's superstars: • Aggressive In-Line Skating: Park, Individual Slalom, Mini-Vert, Best Trick • Skateboarding: Park, Individual Slalom, Mini-Vert, Best Trick • Bicycle Stunt: Park, Flatland, Mini-Vert, Best TRick • Sport Climbing: Bouldering, Speed (male and female)
