Rules and Regulations - Wakeboarding
Competitors: 27 Duration of Run: Round One: One run consisting of two passes Round Two: One run consisting of two passes and a double-up Round Three: One run consisting of two passes and a double-up Final Round: One run consisting of two passes and a double-up Competition Format: Round One: Competitors will be divided into three heats of 9 randomly drawn. Within each heat, each competitor will complete one run consisting of two passes, attempting as many tricks as they wish. Runs will not be timed. Each competitor will receive a Round One score and is ranked within their heat; top 6 competitors in each heat will advance to Round Two. Round Two: Competitors will be divided into three heats of 6 athletes, ranked on Round One scores. Within each heat, each competitor will complete one run consisting of two passes and a double-up, attempting as many tricks as they wish. Each competitor will receive a Round Two score and is ranked within their heat; top 4 competitors in each heat will advance to Round Three. Round Three: Competitors will be divided into two heats of 6 athletes, ranked on Round Two scores. Within each heat, each competitor will complete one run consisting of two passes and a double-up, attempting as many tricks as they wish. Each competitor will receive a Round Three score. Competitors will be ranked on the leaderboard, 1-12 based on their Round Three score, with the top six competitors advancing to the Final Round. Final Round: Each of the six competitors will complete one run consisting of two passes and a double-up and will receive a Final Round score. Competitors will be ranked an the leaderboard, 1-6, based on their Final Round score. Computation of Scores: Round One: The three judges score competitors based on overall impression. Style points will be awarded at each judge's discretion, based on impression of the entire routine. Competitors' scores will be carried to the hundredth decimal place. Scoring is based on a 100-point scale that factors in Execution, Intensity and Composition. Round Two: Scores are computed exactly as in Round One. Round Three: Scores are computed exactly as in Round One. Final Round: Scores are computed exactly as in Round One. Return to top |
