Before step one you want to learn no-footers. |
Once you've got them wired you should choose a dirt jump that's at least five feet high. A tabletop might be a smart place to start. |
You want to be relaxed, but not too relaxed. Make sure you have enough speed to clear the jump. |
Pull up as you ride off the lip, but not too much. Lift your feet off the pedals and start to kick them backwards. You don't want to pull up too much because you'll get loopy. The key is to keep your bike level. |
As you reach your peak in the air you want to fully extend your legs and arms. Kick your legs back more and more as you get comfortable. The goal is to get to your legs and arms fully extended. |
Push the bike away from you for maximum extension. You don't want to push your bike out too fast or too hard. Relax a little bit so your bike doesn't kick out to the side. Try not to spread your legs apart too far either or you'll look gross. |
Pull the bike back under you with your arms and jump back onto your pedals. Be sure to keep your bike level so you don't loop out. |
You'll have to start to nosedive if the landing is steep. |
Relax and ride away. Once you're comfortable with the trick move on to a set of doubles. |
