When people think about Ben Harper, they think of a world-famous musician. As well they should. Ever since his 1993 debut, Welcome to the Cruel World, Harper has captivated audiences with his distinctive blend of rock, blues, folk, soul and hip-hop. Live from Mars, Harper's most recent release, features prominently his permanent backup band, the Innocent Criminals, and furthers Harper's reputation as one of the most exciting rock acts around today.

But thinking of Harper as just a rock star underestimates the man. Growing up in Pomona, Calif., 90 miles east of L.A. in SoCal's "Inland Empire," Harper is no stranger to street skating. (See, it's not just some coincidence that he's playing the ESPN Action Sports and Music Awards.) Can he throw down clean back-to-back kick-flip-to-double-grind reverts? Well, why don't you ask him that ... or anything else that's on your mind.
