The vibe of the event was pure positivity, in only a way the Washington community can provide to their people. Girls and boys were bobbing their heads and ordering up a grip o' Red Bull and Vodkas as DJ Masa warmed the crowd before big show. Then all of the sudden the lights dropped and it seemed as if everyone in the place was putting their ten-man-yell on display. The film started to roll and it was on!

Hoots, hollers and plenty of laughter spewed forth as "The Convention" put everybody's face into full attention mode. When it was over, people were hugging and high fiving like a long lost reunion of old friends, and for many it was. I think Pete Saari (co-founder Mervin Manufacturing) said it pretty well.

"We had a bunch of drinks and there were a bunch of friends there and there were Lib banners everywhere and Eric and all those guys were giggling and drunk. Billy Summers' music gig had an even mix between men and women, which in the NW is almost unheard of at a snowboard event, so I thought that was a plus. I think overall it was a nice big family feeling, I kind of got warm and fuzzy off of it. Those guys worked super hard and I think everybody had a good time. It felt like snowboarding at home in the NW was alive and well. And, ummm, I was hung over the next day."

Gotta love the shred twins.
