Continuing its assault on the snowboarding
world, Chorus Snowboards has announced an alliance with High Cascade
Snowboard Camp (HCSC) for the first-ever women's only snowboarding camp at
Mt. Bachelor, Ore. April 5-7. The announcement comes on the heels of the
introduction of Chorus' apparel line at the recent SnowSports Industries
America trade show, and team rider Janna Meyen's explosive return to
competition at the Winter X-Games and the Snowboarding World Championships.
Team riders Leslee Olson, Roberta Rodger, Cara-Beth Burnside and Janna Meyen
will coach the 3-day program, designed for women riders of all abilities.
Elements of the program include improving existing skills, teaching new
techniques and building confidence. The $395 fee includes lift tickets,
on-hill breakfast and lunch, professional snowboard instruction, demo
equipment, camp t-shirt and giveaway prizes at the end of the session.
"This camp grew from the rapidly growing demand of young women in
snowboarding," said Victoria Malendoski, Executive Director of High Cascade.
"The Chorus team, with some of the top female pros in the business, is an
inspiration to all women and the perfect fit for this camp."
For 13 years High Cascade has provided camps regarded among the best in the
world. The highly qualified and carefully screened staff provides campers
with an unparalleled level of instruction and a ratio as low as two campers
per staff member. High Cascade staff are certified in American Red Cross
First Aid and CPR and are selected based on their relevant work experience,
qualifications, maturity level, reliability, enthusiasm and overall ability
to provide a positive and supportive environment for our campers. Nearly
75% of staff members return from year to year.
Chorus snowboards are built with women in mind, offering customized flex and
shape with a strong focus on freestyle performance. Although each rider
worked with an artist to design a graphic to suit her personality, Chorus
boards are not signature models. The team worked together closely to test,
ride and collaborate on design of the entire line. Chorus offers cap
construction snowboards in five lengths from 142cm-157cm with a suggested
retail price of $385 and sidewall boards in lengths of 145cm, 150cm and
155cm with a retail price of $435. The new girls' collection, featuring
boards in lengths of 118cm and 128cm, retails at $199. Chorus snowboards
and apparel are sold at select specialty snowboarding stores worldwide. For
