Premier, the original and authentic
manufacturer of quality snowskates(tm), has announced today that
professional skateboarder John Cardiel has joined the Premier Snowskate
team. The addition of Cardiel as the first-ever pro skater to the team
underscores the crossover appeal of snowskating with both skateboarders and
snowboarders alike. In addition, pro snowboarder Jeremy Jones is back on
the Premier team following a short hiatus.
Cardiel first tried a Premier Snowskate during last year's Transworld board
test at Boreal Resort. After applying his skateboarding skills to the
snowskate, it was obvious it was a natural fit. Cardiel's raw talent as
both a pro skater and a pro snowboarder will ultimately combine to progress
the tricks in snowskating to a whole new level. In 2002/03, Premier will
feature a John Cardiel pro-model snowskate in the Big Wood Series, a line of
five-ply wood-laminated snowskates manufactured using a skateboarding
construction technique with a snowboard style sublimated P-tex extruded
base.
"I checked out the Premier boards, and Andy Wolf and the team guys were
cool. I'm down to support Premier," said Cardiel. "Snowskating is cool
because it's harder than snowboarding, but also a lot like skateboarding.
It's just fun to mess around and have a good time. Right now I like doing
pop shove-its, lipslides, rail tricks and flip tricks but we'll see what's
next."
After taking some time off to focus on his family and snowboarding career,
Jeremy Jones is now back on the Premier Snowskate team. Jones will continue
to apply his snowboarding talents to snowskating. Premier will also feature
a Jeremy Jones pro-model snowskate in the Big Wood Series for 2002/03.
"Premier is so stoked to be working with John. I feel his style of riding
will help take Premier to the next level," says Andy Wolf, Founder of
Premier Snowskate. "We are very excited to have a pro skater on the team
and especially one as cool as John. I think having Cardiel on the team makes
our roster the most complete in the industry."
Cardiel and Jones join an already impressive Premier team that includes Todd
Richards, J.P. Walker, Blaise Rosenthal, Sebastian Raban, Mitch Nelson,
Jason Borgstede, Rio Tahara, Nicolas Droz, and Nate Bozung.
Premier, the original snowskate manufacturer, launched in 1998. A
snowskate, a board that is slightly wider and longer than a skateboard, is
made of plastic with a channeled base for stability and tracking and a foam
topsheet for grip. Snowskates combines the design, physics and feeling of
skateboarding and snowboarding and are for use on snow-covered sled hills,
snowskate parks, or even right in the backyard. Premier Snowskates are
currently available in specialty snow/skate shops worldwide and in select
mail-order catalogs. Consumers can call 1-800-305-4138 or log on to
www.premiersnowsk8.com to find a dealer near them. For Premier stickers and
