Planet Earth Video Premier

Friday August 3rd was the night Planet Earth Skateboards pro team rider Forrest Kirby premiered his video "F.O.R.E. and Friends" to the masses. The legendary La Paloma theater in beautiful Encinitas, California was the spot, and most of the Planet Earth team was in attendance to support Forrest's effort, including Felix "The Lix" Arguelles, Kenny Anderson and new amateur hot shoe Jason Jones.

La Paloma. This kids, is where it all happens.

Forrest gave a very shy but truthful summation of the the video, stating that it wasn't about the hardest or latest tricks, but a video showcasing him and his friends just having fun rolling, something that tends to be missing from the cookie-cutter video magazines that are released on the regular.

A lot of the skaters featured in F.O.R.E. and Friends didn't even ride for Earth, but none the less had a couple bangers in the video, including some of his friends he grew up skating with in San Antonio, Texas.

Next, Sal Masakela took over the mic and gave out some Earth boards to a couple of lucky recipients and then he proceeded to introduce the the trailer to the up coming Adio video "One Step Beyond". Unfortunately just as the trailer started (it looks sick) the tape took a shit and that was that. Oh well.

Forrest's video was up next and that was what we were there to see. F.O.R.E. and Friends starts off with a small personal glimpse of who Forrest is, including pictures of him as a kid in Texas hanging with his family and what not. The video then shows his San Antonio posse getting stuff done, including Zoo Yorker Anthony Correa. Other highlights of the video include Miami/L.A.'s Joel Meinholz seriously wrecking some unknown monster hubbas to bits and Ed Selego unleashing some buttery noseblunts on a perfect mini hubba in Poland. Las Vegas' favorite son (next to Wayne Newton of course) Kenny Anderson's manual wizardry commanded the loudest applause in the audience, you can't get enough of his silky performance and smooth lines.

If you've seen the recent trailers for F.O.R.E. in the latest 411s, then you've seen the hilarious Terry Kennedy doo-rag footage, that's in there as well as a couple Terry bangers including a varial heel down a niner. Unknown Earth Uber-Am, Jason Jones wrecks shop in a very Tosh like manner including some serious bannister blasts and stair assaults, including back lips on fifteens and crooks on twelves in a line. Other standouts include Earth ams Nate Broussard and Brian Edwards who both had some sick stuff as well.

Jason Jones 50-50's the big one-three.

Forrest winds down the video (thought he wouldn't) with some seriously good, well rounded skating. I don't know what he was talking about when he said the video didn't have the best tricks cuz his stuff was for real. Forrest basically closes out the Wilshire gap to ledge spot with a frontside noseblunt slide pop out that will leave you wondering why he is so humble and why you suck so bad!

All and all a fun time in San Diego so get the vid when it's released to the masses you won't be disappointed!
