Vans Triple Crown of Skateboarding Final Stop

Santa Fe Springs, CA (September 13, 2002) - The Xbox World Championships of Skateboarding bring the top skateboarding athletes to Oceanside, California October 3-6 for the third and final stop of the Vans Triple Crown of Skateboarding. Free to attend, the Xbox World Championships are a chance to catch skate's biggest names including 2001 event champions Bastien Salabanzi and Bob Burnquist plus such names as Eric Koston, Geoff Rowley, Tony Trujillo, Bucky Lasek and Andy Macdonald. Those who can't make it out to the Oceanside Pier and Amphitheater to see the world's best going for a share of the $150,000 purse and a Ford Ranger FX4 can watch the telecast on NBC Sports on December 21 at 3 pm EST.

"We're really looking forward to bringing the Xbox World Championships of Skate back to Oceanside," said Steve Van Doren, Vans' vice president, events & promotions. "Last year, Southern California showed great support for skateboarding as 60,000 fans came out."
