Zumiez "Hit and Run" Tour

Zumiez, the leading youth lifestyle specialty retailer, is set to introduce the 2002 Zumiez "Hit and Run" Skateboard Tour early this summer featuring skateboarding demos by the Element, Volcom and Adio pro teams (one team per stop), an invitational amateur skateboard event (at select stops), live music (at select stops) and much more.

The "Hit and Run" tour, scheduled for June and July, is expected to draw upwards of 20,000 spectators over the course of the events. The promotions will take place in the mall parking lots of Zumiez store locations where an expert street course will be set up. Skaters expected to appear for the Element stops include: ­Bam Margera, Kenny Hughes, Terry Kennedy, Colt Cannon, Jeremy Wray, and Jake Rupp; for the Volcom stops ­ Geoff Rowley, Mark Appleyard, Brian Sumner, and Alan Petersen; for the Adio stops skaters to be announced.

The tour will also include a unique invitational amateur skateboard event, called the skate "Nontest" designed for Zumiez to help local riders get exposure and be seen by the pro teams and their team managers. Twenty-five expert street skaters in select regions will be invited to skate the street course, personally meet the team and the team manager, and have a chance to get a new supply of skate equipment or possibly be put on the flow team.

In addition to the skating, there will be scheduled autograph signings, live music including Volcom music artist "Arkham" (at Albany, NY), product giveaways from tour sponsors, limited edition tour t-shirts and stickers, free samples of Hansenšs beverages, and X-Box demo kiosks for spectators to test out the latest video games.
