3.5 Million See ESPN Moto-X 01-02 Season!

(July 18, 2001) Pt. Dume, CA - An astounding 3.5 million people watched the 01-02 ESPN Moto-X Championships, presented by MX Superfly, recently released Nielsen rating and viewership figures revealed. This vast television audience, supplemented by the live gate from the events, underscores this official X Games Qualifying series as the undisputed leader in the world of freestyle moto-x.

"Of course, the X Games remains the Super Bowl when it comes to freestyle in terms of viewers and impact," commented Moto-X Co CEO Paul Taublieb, producer of the series, "and we're thrilled to be viewed by more freestyle fans than anyone else but them. It's great to bring the sport to people as a live event, which we do at venues across the country and where our sponsors touch the fans and the sport is flourishing at a grass roots level, but the unmatched broad-based impact is through television. You can't beat that combination."

Actual television viewership was 3,437,460, measured as HH (house hold) viewership of the 01-02 tour, which crowned Nate Adams as WFA Freestyle and Big Air Champion and Ronnie Renner as Step Up Champion, based on the multiple airings of the season's shows and compilation show on both ESPN and ESPN2. ESPN Moto-X is one of only a few action sports programs that airs on both networks and is broadcast in Prime Time as well as other desirable time slots due to its consistent viewership.

"Moto-X Co continues preparation towards the X Games," continued Tes Sewell, Exec VP of Moto-X Co, "but it's great to see tangible evidence of all our hard work from the past year come to fruition. You just can't be anything but thrilled that 3 and half million people saw our shows, not to mention the extensive internet coverage on EXPN.com and FreestyleMTX.com, and support from magazines like our print partner, MXMachine. Above all, we remain grateful to ESPN for their support who make it all possible."

"Our Fall/Winter Moto-X Co tour dates will be announced shortly." Sewell added. "In addition to the 3.5 million viewers to date, this number is certain to grow as the shows of the 01/02 season continue to air in rotation going forward."
