Bend, OR-13 March 2002-Heidi Henry recently traveled overseas to participate in a freestyle motocross exhibition at the Walkman "Night of the Jumps 2" event held March 2, 2002 in Riesa, Germany.

The international event included Freestyle, Step-Up, and Whip contests along with BMX and Skateboarding Demos. Heidi was the first rider of the night. She entertained the 6,000 + Spectators at the Sachsen ARENA with no footed can-cans and heel-clickers.
AIR TEAM, the promoters of the event, put up a purse of 29,000 Euros. Nineteen riders from 11 nations participated in the event. Among the male competitors were Australia's Dayne Kinnaird, England's Gary Taylor, and American Mike Jones. Jones took home the lion's share of the pro purse, winning both the Freestyle contest, Step-Up and taking 2nd place in the Whip contest to Australian Daniel Hall. Along with start money, Heidi was awarded a payout bonus.
Marko Manthey manager of AIR-TEAM said, "The real star of the evening was Heidi Henry from California, the first professional female Freestyle Motocross rider in the history of the sport celebrated her European premier in Riesa. Heidi didn't make it into the finals, but she made it into the hearts of the spectators."
