SOUTHWICK, MASS. - The battle we all talked about never really did materialize. Even though Travis Pastrana had to pass Grant Langston to go 2-1 at round four of the AMA Chevy Trucks MX series, Langston was riding with a torn ligament in his shoulder which he suffered Saturday in practice. Langston wasn't going to ride but a last second decision had him salvaging precious points.

Travis Pastrana was able to come from behind in both motos to take the overall via 2-1 moto finishes.

Nathan Ramsey pulled the holeshot at the start of moto one followed by Mike Brown, Keith Johnson and Langston. Ramsey's lead only lasted a lap and after that it was all Brown who pulled away and ended up winning the moto by almost 30 seconds.

Pastrana started the moto in 10th and by the halfway point he was in second. His only barrier between first place was about 30 seconds. Brown was that fast. Local hero, Keith Johnson had a strong ride for third, Ramsey held on for fourth and Paul Currie finished fifth.

In the second moto, Brock Sellards pulled the holeshot over Ernesto Fonseca, Ramsey, Johnson and Langston. Pastrana again started just outside the top ten but the big story was Mike Brown who went down 50 feet after the starting line when he tangled with Pastrana.

While Sellards was way out front, the racing was for second place between Langston, Johnson, Ramsey, Damon Huffman and Pastrana. Langston surprised everyone by running in second for much of the race. Fans got a small portion of the race that was supposed to be when Pastrana and Langston battled for a few laps, but Pastrana was clearly the stronger rider and eventually motored by to take second. Langston faded to fourth.

With two laps to go Sellards still had a healthy lead but Pastrana was quickly reeling him in. The race came down to the last lap and Pastrana showed his wheel several times before making a pass in the back sweeper. Pastrana took the win over Sellards, who finished the first moto in 10th. Huffman finished third followed by Langston and Ramsey. Brown was by far the fastest rider on the track and he came from dead last to finish the moto ninth.

"I didn't think I was going to be able to catch Sellards in the second moto," Pastrana said. "He was flying out there. But I've really got to hand it to Langston for riding with that injured shoulder. He's tough. It was great to win here but I can't wait to get to my home track, Budd's Creek."
