This is the only official Moto-X X Games qualifying event to appear in The Rock & Roll Capitol of the World, and it's also the only competition featuring the top talent in the sport. These moto madman (doing handstands on motorcycles over 100-foot gaps and tricks like Superman Seat Grabs, The Dead Body, The Stripper, The Mandatory Suicide) will include the likes of Brian Deegan, X Games Gold Medallist and noted Bad Boy of the Metal Mulisha, World Record holder Tommy Clowers, the infamous "Mad" Mike Jones, Clifford "The Flyin' Hawaiin" Adoptante, and local Ohio boy, the Yamaha factory rider Trevor Vines, as well as up and coming stars like 17-year-old Nate Adams, the hard-charging Drake McElroy, and fresh off the plane from Australia just to compete in the Moto-X series, Daniel Hall. This crowd-favorite is literally a motorcycle high jump - the riders launch themselves up a 90-degree vertical dirt wall and over a high bar, usually soaring 30 feet off the arena floor until only one rider is flying. And finally, Freestyle. One rider on a multi-takeoff and landings course - a skate park made out of 2,000 cubic yards of dirt along with metal ramps, and the rider has 2 minutes to express himself with a variety of tricks, while showcasing his overall trick and riding skills. All the action is covered by ESPN for multiple airings leading up to the Summer X Games, taking place in Philadelphia, PA, August 15-19. Check out all the action on expn.com in the freestyle motocross (MTX) section of the website. The ESPN Moto-X Championships is presented by MX Superfly for Playstation 2, and by Uni Filter.
