Freeride Moto-X

Qualifying for the 2002 ESPN Summer X Games uses the following criteria system for all riders:

Freestyle:

1: Freestyle Gold Medalist - Summer X Games '01 - Qualified for 2002 Summer X: Travis Pastrana 2 thru 10: Top 9 qualifiers from Moto-X Championships Tour 11 thru 16: Wild Cards voted by WFA committee.

To be eligible for Wild Card spots, riders must compete in both qualifying events in Detroit, MI March 22/23 and Cleveland, OH April 5/6, prior to Summer X Games.

Exceptions:

1: Riders who are injured for one or both qualifying events 2: Gold medallists from Big Air (Summer and Winter) and Step Up who are eligible for Wild Card voting regardless of attendance at qualifying events. 3: International riders who are unable to attend due to geographical difficulties but who have attained a reputation for exceptional riding skills.

Step Up:

1: Step Up Gold Medalist - Summer X Games '01 - Qualified for 2002: Tommy Clowers 2 thru 10: Top 9 qualifiers from Moto-X Championships Tour 11 thru 16: Wild Cards voted by WFA committee.

To be eligible for Wild Card spots, riders must compete in both qualifying events in Detroit, MI March 22/23 and Cleveland, OH April 5/6, prior to Summer X Games.
