On the first day of the X Games 2000, Ryan Nyquist needed something...a pump for his back tire and a free day to see the Golden Gate Bridge. Although the rider hails from Los Gatos, California, he has never gotten a chance to check out the massive San Francisco structure. 21 year old Nyquist is one of the most respected riders on the pro tour today and he's also one of the only BMX riders in the X Games competing in every event other than Flatland.
While looking for a pump, we hung out with and filmed Ryan to give you a day in his life. After a grueling competition at the stunt jump, Ryan squeezed his way into a gold metal after landing a jaw-dropping 720 on his final run. Check out these pictures of Ryan's gold metal winning day.
