On May 4, 2000, the Beta Lounge was rocked by an unprecedented concentration of planetary energy, wreaking havoc on our turntables, mixers, and even the back of our guest DJ...
Imagine the vast amounts of pressure that the needle exerts on the groove of the record, and the tremendous velocity at which the record moves past this needle -- 33rpm at the scale of a diamond tip is very fast indeed...
Luckily, San Francisco local and powerful Beta Lounge ally, the lady Fabuliz represented with grace and style, bringing a light touch and heavy grooves to our finicky right-hand deck. She brought the deepest of house music, laced with classic acid and dense textures from the borders of techno; spinning for two-and-a-half-hours (with an aching back no less!).

To wind things up, Resident Nomad Skreddy57 and Mr. Bollweevil teamed up for a rare hip hop session of vocal cuts that tried to tame the errant table... which is now comfortably on a workbench in Oakland, being looked after by the capable East Bay Technics technicians. Say a prayer for deck #2.
