The Sounds of post-New York...rocked the Betalounge tonight, courtesy of the Big Apple's own Soundlab(NYC).
DJ M. Singe and MC Verb rinsed out the entire audible spectrum with their trademark mash-up of stark drum & bass, sweeping soundscapes peppered with fat breaks, electronic textures, and Verb's electro-toasting.

Starting in the mid-90s, under the banner of Cultural Alchemy, Soundlab was responsible for rescuing the New York scene from a developing system of audio apartheid. They threw down multidimensional happenings everywhere from Chinatown to the base of the Brooklyn Bridge. Experimentation was the rule, bringing together the likes of DJ Spooky, That Subliminal Kid, Byzar, We, Lloop and a host of sonic pioneers that loosely formed the "illbient" (ill ambient) movement.
If you can't be at one of their happenings, check for Flav-O-Pac:Memeograph I on the SOUNDLAB label where the scene is recombined with ingredients provided by DJ Wally, DJ Soulslinger, Shizuo, DJ Mutamassik, Toshio Kajiwara and others.
In the meantime, chew on this... http://www.betalounge.com/stuff/lounge3-20-00.ram
