Beta Lounge March 16, 2000

When he's not minding the shop at Temple Records NYC, you can find Ulysses behind the decks at a list of Lower Manhattan nightspots. Gigs like the recent Twilo show with Rolando (Underground Resistance) keeps Ulysses pushing his all encompassing style among the techno elite.

Back in the day, Ulysses jump-started the first techno radio show in New Orleans on WTUL 91.5 FM. From '91 through '96 he gave the south a musical education with tracks from artists such as Indeep (Last night a DJ Saved my Life), Herbie Hancock, and Depeche Mode. Today he sees contemporaries like Daniel Wang, Morgan Geist, and John Selway expanding on this electro and synth pop tradition.

So don't sleep on this epic journey back through the misty early years of electronic pop. It's a history lesson you can shake your ass to, courtesy of the Beta Lounge.
