Art Takes on a Whole New Look.

New York Magazine says: "The Art World's Sexiest Canvases"

It's with enthusiasm for the cause and excitement for a repeat of last year's success that Modart officially announces participation in Boarding for Breast Cancer 2001. Since 2000, we've attempted to create a unique perspective on battle against breast cancer, one that highlights the defeatable nature of its ugly presence by showcasing the beauty and strength within the female form. The breastmolds that we auction, created on women of all shapes and then customized by artists of all types, are physical representations of a simple truth: while breast cancer attacks all women without prejudice, it is also the powerful individual present in all women that will conquer it.

We've discovered a treasure in every chest.

This year, two events will precede our final auction at Boarding for Breast Cancer's huge snowboard and music festival on April 14th at Lake Tahoe, CA. Our plaster-of-Paris breastmolds, each shaped on one of hundreds of volunteers and then painted by various well-known artists who shape the visual environment of the action sports scene (including Ed Templeton, Andy Jenkins, Shepard Fairey, Tina Basich, Lance Mountain, Futura, Andy Howell and Rich Jacobs) will be displayed at bicoastal openings.

From Feb. 28 to the March 18th find us at New York's Inhumane Shop, 195 Mulberry St, NY NY 10012. Opening night (7-10 pm) will feature DJ's Jaclyn D, Gordon French and Seph from F.S.R.

Next, in San Francisco from March 23rd to April 11th, we'll be on display at Red Five, 1472 Haight St, SF CA 94117. Here DJ Satva Long will handle opening night duties, also from 7-10 pm.

Work with us to "keep abreast" of the problem, starting now. The unmatched artistic and creative intensity present in the action sports scene is proof enough of the power of individuals acting as a group. We've simply combined the elements in the fight against a new foe.
