"Crazy Freakin' Bikers Round II
May 4th-7th, 2000
Utopia Park International, Raleigh, NC

The Bicycle Stunt Series was born in 1992 and became known as the ultimate battleground for bicycle gladiators. After all the success the sport has experienced there was one thing missing - a competition environment where riders can be riders and amateurs can get their groove on with the pros. We have heard the call! We give you the CRAZY FREAKIN' BIKER SERIES. Gladiators of all skill levels prepare!

CFB disciplines are: Flat, Vert, Street/Park and Dirt jumping

Three Classes: Two amateur and one pro

Soon To Be = Beginner
Stuntboy = Expert
Stuntmen = Pro

*Note- Dirt will only have two classes; Stuntboy and Stuntmen.

Helmet, elbow & kneepads required.

Top 8 finishers get a plaque in each class and discipline.

*Pre-registration is highly recommended. (It helps us a lot)

Am entry is $30 per discipline if you pre-register or $40 at the park.
Pro entry is $90 per discipline if you pre-register or $100 at the park.

The year-end CFB series Champions will take home "the Coveted CFB Golden Straight Jacket".

TV will be at the CFB's but in a much different way than at the BSS/X Trials and B3 events. The CFB events will air on ESPN and ESPN2. It will be more laid back than the X Trial and B3 competitions, more old school BS style. In fact, we are now doing the TV production too. Man we are busy!

*$5.00 spectator fee per day or $10.00 for the entire event.

*Competitors must show proof of current health insurance *NO EXCEPTIONS! We're very serious about this, so if you don't have health insurance, don't complain when you show up and can't ride. Without a current health insurance card and ID, YOU CAN NOT COMPETE.

*To pre register, paperwork must be received 2 weeks before competition date. You can download the registration form from the BS Series web site or call and we can fax or mail it to you.

Pro Purse:
There will be over *$84,000 in cash awarded throughout the series (*$7000 per discipline. Check the BS Series web site for the pro payout breakdown).

Changes to Judging Criteria

Judging is weighed on how big/burly/risky, original/style, and technical a trick/line and flow of a riders run is. The question posed by a lot of riders now is how much does technical vs. big style riding count towards their scoring. The main discipline, in which these two styles of riding is so widespread, is street riding. This stems from the different styles of street i.e. urban, technical street riding vs. park, ramp/street riding. It's to a point that they are almost entirely different disciplines, but there is still only one stage for both styles to compete on, and because of this, we have to address the judging criteria so riders know how they are being judged. A lot of riders have progressed within both elements and can fluently adapt to both styles competitively. As judges and directors of our sport, we have to acknowledge all aspects of riding and recognize it in competition consistently and accurately. By doing so, the riders can orchestrate their runs accordingly. To accomplish this, we modified the judging format so the riders can interpret it into their runs, and we as judges can pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses when asked.

New Judging System:

Judge 1: Overall
Judge 2: Overall
Judge 3: Overall
Judge 4: big/burly/risk factor
Judge 5: style/originality/technical

Each judge's score counts (20%) all judges' scores count

Timing changes:

Vert
Each rider will receive 2X60-second runs. The sport announcer will give the rider a 15-second warning (45-sec.). Last trick will count after the 60-second buzzer as long as the riders front wheel is contacting the upcoming take off transition.

Example: If they're on their way up the transition they're using for their last trick, it counts. If they're on the flat or in the air setting up for the next wall, it doesn't count.

Street
Each rider will receive 2X75-second runs. The sport announcer will give the rider a 15-second warning (60-sec.). Last trick will count after the 75-second buzzer as long as the rider is directly approaching the ramp/obstacle they will use for the last trick.

Example: If they're headed towards the transition they're using for their last trick and the buzzer sounds, it counts. If the buzzer sounds and you need to hit the vert wall to set up for a box jump trick the next wall, it doesn't count. "
