With so many things going on, it's not surprising that a few things get missed. Here are some stories that almost got swept under the radar.

SNB - After much deliberation over noise levels connected with Aspen's Spring Jam scheduled from March 31-April 15, a compromise was reached between Aspen Skiing Co. and nearby Silver Queen Gondola residents. The Aspen Daily News compiled responses to the question, "Should SkiCo be given a noise variance allowing live and recorded music for the full 13 days or is the city correct in siding with neighbors who feel the noise would bother them and their guests?" The overwhelming response (to quote one eloquent response): "You gotta fight for your right to party."

SKT - Tony Hawk will team up with California's READ project in an effort to promote reading among young boys in the state. A series of PSAs will feature Hawk attempting unsuccessfully to master a difficult skateboard trick. Later, he is reading and telling viewers that reading is a much less painful way to learn. Less pain could be good ?

MTN - Well "Holey" crap! Coming up this month, Radical Films will unveil its latest mountain bike movie, "Search for the Holey Trail," at the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival. The film follows behind the heels of The Kranked Trilogy and will star such names as Brett Tippie, Butch 13 and Dangerous Dan.

SRF - Speaking of crap, the City if San Diego is in some deep doodoo with the California chapter of the Surf Rider Foundation. The Foundation alleges that the city has been routinely (not to mention illegally) dumping millions of gallons of raw sewage into the city's coastal waters, resulting in numerous beach closures over the past four years. The Foundation, along with San Diego Baykeeper, filed a lawsuit against the City of San Diego. Come on, since when did anyone enjoy surfing in someone else's toilet?

MTX - Sheep are not the only casualties of foot-and-mouth disease. The epidemic has caused motocross events to be postponed or cancelled throughout Europe. The latest victim of this epidemic is the Dutch Sidecarcross Grand Prix. Two cases have been confirmed in the region surrounding the Oldebroek track, and the town's Mayor has placed a ban on racing.
