Fashion Police: Day One
08.18.00EXPN.com Wild Hairs While walking around the grounds of the X Games, it was easy to see why we would select hair as our first fashion report. The only problem with policing hair was that the victims actually looked kind of cool and seemed to blend in with the rest of the crowd. The only exception was a girl with shoulder length brown hair. She was one of the few who really didn't seem to belong. Past visits to San Francisco had led me to believe that most of today's youth in the bay were sporting that super grungy, Birkenstock wearin', wanna-be new-age hippie look--nasty matted hair included. The colorful, yet clean-cut cuts of today, came as a nice relief to a person who thinks the ideal haircut is a number one clip or a ponytail. Going back to my own hippie-root-denial, I thought I'd share some pics for those not fortunate enough to be here captioned with the verses of Hair (you know, that awful musical from the 60's). As you will see, there are only a few shots that make you want to grab the nearest sharp object and start hacking. More reports to come from the EXPN Fashion Police.
