Singapore: It is with deep regret that we confirm the untimely and accidental death of a participant in the AsianXtour Singapore. The competitor met an accident while practicing his bicycle stunts on the park course at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza Friday afternoon. He was immediately attended to by the onsite St. John's medic team, after which he was rushed to Mount Elizabeth Hospital by the onsite ambulance.
Rick Dovey, Managing Director of ESPN Star Sports: "We are deeply saddened by his death and we extend to his family our heartfelt sympathy during this difficult time. Out of respect, we will honour his memory with a day of remembrance, Saturday, 8 December 2001. We are postponing the AsianXtour Singapore and have rescheduled the event to begin on Sunday, 9 December 2001."
