Worldwide action sport sanctioning bodies, the Aggressive Skaters Association, World Cup Skateboarding and Hoffman Sports Association will each be sending a head judge to ensure as always that the competition is the best. In addition, athletes compete on top-notch ramps, designed by the same guys who do the courses for the X Games. For most of these athletes this will be the first time they've competed in their sport and the first time they competed on an actual professionally designed and constructed course.
Malaysian athletes will be competing for a spot at the regional X Games Qualifier, this is their only shot to qualify for the January event, so expect to see some high flyin' action.
The Tour stop will act as a curtain-raiser for the Asian X Games Qualifier IV presented by Toyota, which will take place in Kuala Lumpur in January 2002. This is the regional event drawing the leading athletes from across Asia to compete for a share of US$100,000 prize money, medals and an invitation to compete in ESPN's X Games in the USA.
Highlights from the 2001 Asian Xtour Kuala Lumpur presented by Toyota will be broadcast on the ESPN International networks around the world. Check your local listings for updates on tour coverage.
