2002 AXQ - Just the Facts
Date: Asian X Games Qualifier IV January 31st - Feburary 3rd, 2002 Venue: KLCC Park, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Located strategically next to Malaysia's world landmark, the Petronas Twin Towers, KLCC Park will be the official venue for this year's event. Asian X Games Qualifier IV presented by Toyota (AXQ) As the Asian X Games Qualifier moves into its fourth year, over 250 top action sports athletes from throughout Asia and the Asian Pacific Region will once again compete for prize money, medals, and the most coveted prize of all- a qualifying spot at the X Games VIII. Gold medalist from this year's AXQ will travel to Philadelphia, U.S.A., in 2002 to compete against the WORLD'S best action sports athletes. Sport Categories Aggressive In-line Skating: Park*, Vert*, & Vert Doubles Bicycle Stunt: Park*, Vert, & Flatland* Skateboarding: Park*, Vert Sport Climbing: Speed (men & women)* Wakeboarding* (* qualify for X Games VIII) Athletes Over 250 athletes from throughout Asia and the Asian Pacific Region. Athletes who placed within the top three at competitions during the 2001 Asian Xtour presented by Toyota, stops automatically qualified to compete. Countries represented will include: Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, China, Chinese-Taipei, the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Junior X Games III presented by Toyota(JX) Moving into its third year of competition, the ESPN Junior X Games promises to be bigger & better than ever. Over 80 junior athletes, ages 6-14 from over 12 different Asian and Asian Pacific countries will be competing in this year's event. This 2-day event for aspiring action sports athletes, includes clinics and workshops with pro X Games athletes as well as competitions in events modeled after those seen at the X Games. These future star athletes will compete for medals and a trip to the ultimate action sports camp in the world, Camp Woodward.
