Chris Fleener demonstrated his diverse street skating ability by pulling off a 1800 acid drop from the eleven-foot vert ramp coping into the street course below.
Deborah put on a show with sick moves that impressed even the best male skaters like a ten-foot gap transfer from the hipped quarter bowl into the eight-foot mini. Deborah placed fifth overall out of a field of 20 skaters. Eighteen of those were men.
The locals benefited from knowing the lay of the course. It is obvious that the progression of the sport and scene as a whole is stronger than ever. These superstars of tomorrow are riding and competing with no sponsors. They skate, simply for the love of skating.
Even the youngsters came out and impressed the judges and ASA staff that was present at the event. Look out for up and comer C.B. Bonz from Houston. This ten-year-old is definitely the future of the sport and is already turning heads of industry leaders.
Not to be outdone was 45 year old Ron Leck who tore up both the open street and vert categories, taking the Silver medal position on the vert podium.
