| Aerials |
With specialized big air ramps and landings, original moves were upright moves; spread eagles and back scratches and helicopters. Later complicated inverted maneuvers began to dominate, quadruple flips and multiple front and back flips with twists. |

| Aggro |
Can either be used to describe an extreme sport, or to describe aggressive temperment. |
| Air |
What it is called when riders clear jumps or obstacles. |
| Amped |
Stoked, thrilled, pumped up. |
| Anchor |
That which keeps a rider from riding/training to the extent he/she would like, such as a spouse or child. Usually said in an endearing way. |

The feeder circuit for the Supercross tour. |
| Bail |
To ditch your bike before a crash. |
| Bar Hop |
Thrusting both feet through the arms, over the front fender, and back while the arms hold the bars. |
| Beater |
Wipeout or fall. |
| Bottom end |
The lower portion of the motor. Includes the crank, gears, clutch, ignition, and fly wheel. |
| Brain bucket |
A helmet. |
| Canadian saran wrap |
Reverse saran wrap. Leg comes from the outside, over the bars, and back to the foot peg. One hand is released from the bars to allow the leg to pass through. |
| Can-Can |
The rider moves one leg over the gaas tank to the other side of the bike and back. |
| Candy bar |
One foot over the bars and resting on the front fender. Usually landed with the foot still on the fender. |
| Captain Crash |
When a rider doesn't have the time, or skill, to unclip before crashing and "goes down with the ship." |
| Cat walk |
No-footed can-can with a scissors kick. Named for Tommy "Tomcat" Clowers. |
| Chicken soup |
When the planned move or jump does not go as planned. |
| Cliffhanger |
Rider hooks his feet under the bars and riases his hands in the air |
| Coffin |
Laying back on seat with hands still holding on handlebars. |
| Cordova |
Rider hooks his feet under the bars, arches his back until he is looking behind and upside-down. |
| Dialed-in |
Tuned to perfection. |
| Double Can Can |
Rider moves one leg to other side of bike, then brings other leg up to meet it, elevating his butt off the seat. |
| Double handed hart attack |
Mulisha Air with feet thrusted straight up from the bike. Variation of Carey Hart's Hart attack. |
| Enduro |
Long distance, cross-country motocross race. Example: Baja 1,000. |
| Foot peg |
Foot rest on the bottom portion of the frame. |
| Forks |
These secure the front wheel to the handlebars. |
| Freeriding |
Riding for fun, not competition. Has also been used to describe new freestyle events. |
| Freestyle |
Expression contest in which riders are given a time allotment to hit a variety of jumps, performing aerial maneuvers for a judged score. Have also been called Freeride Competitions. |
