Being injured sucks! I know that is stating the obvious, but the devastation that comes along with being hurt is crazy. Immediately the physical pain sets in, but the mental anguish is usually way harder to cope with. Dealing with not being able to ride is unbelievably hard.
Riding BMX is dangerous; injuries happen often and can take long periods to heal. Many of the top Professional riders have had to come back from everything from broken bones to the major surgeries, that repair the damage done from riding. Not to mention the everyday aches and pains that come with riding BMX.
The incredible thing is that riders overcome these injuries to one day ride better and harder. An injury is looked at like a test. You study by doing physical therapy and taking time off to heal. Then you pass the test by riding harder. Most top riders have gone through this and they should be saluted.
