You can tell by his smile and his laid back style that he has found the key to having a fun life. He has got a amazing girlfriend, Portia so very hot and smart. They have two dogs Bronson (a puppy) and Mingus, the ruler of the household. Most of Jason's favorite people to ride with all live within a half hour of each other and there are fifteen or more parks all within an hour for them to destroy. When out on the town Jason is not afraid to rock sweat pants, play a mean air guitar and howl at the devil accompanied by his motley crew of bmx friends. I bet you wish you had Jason in your town.
Sarah Blyth: Jason you live in East mutha%#$#ing Vancouver, home of China Creek Bowls, how do you like that?
Jason: I live in East Vancouver but I wouldn't say I was a local at China Creek or even that I ride there very often. 2-3 times a year is enough for me.
Where did you grow up?
In Winnipeg
How young?
I am currently 25 years old
How many years have you been riding? Do you remember your 1st bike? What was it?
I have been riding since I was 14 so I guess 11 years. My 1st BMX bike actually came from U-Haul. I dont know the brand but I saw it in the window when I was with my dad and on my next birthday my dad bought it for me.
Gee, yer Dad is nice! Who or what influenced you to start riding?
It's hard to say who, if anybody, got me into riding. It just seemed like all the kids in my neighborhood growing up had bikes and we would all just go riding around.

Favorite people to ride with?
Dave Osato, Darren Bolton, Rob Sigaty, Luke Hurdle,Van Homan and Brian Castilo.
What do you like to do when you are not riding a bike?
I am not really into many things other than riding. I like going to the movies a lot and I like playing with my dogs when they are not fighting or going crazy. Sometimes I get into party mode and I enjoy that for a couple of days. Riding consumes most of my time in one way or another.
You have a new frame coming out for Volume, Eh!
Yeah, I already had a signature frame with Volume called the Destroyer but we are makin' a few minor changes. I think it will still be called the Destroyer though. It will hopfully be out by 2002, hopefully.
Music?
I'm all over the map with my musical tastes. One day I'll be rockin' the Slayer or Metallica and the next day I'll be listening to Ani Difranco. I'm into a little bit of everything.
Favorite BMX video?
I don't even know. I don't watch too many videos anymore, but I always enjoy seeing something new.
Favorite place to ride?
Still my favorite place to be and ride is Vancouver. Between all the skateparks and street there is no place I've been with more to offer than here.
What is the stupidest thing you have ever done?
I don't think I've ever done anything that stupid cause I am still here!
What was it like living with Andrew Faris and Dave Osato?
The few short years we all lived at 1975 in Coquitlam were some of the best times I've ever had. Every day and night there was somting happening and even when there wasn't, we would somehow make the best of it and be bummed together.

There was this article Yanick Dubois showed me a while ago in Pusher Magazine, it seemed you had quite the porn fetish? Sup Jason? Give us the diznert!
I don't remember such an article...ha, ha.
Oh really. Well, maybe I'll just have to get Yanick to dig it up. We'll just have to dust the old cobwebs off and take a gander. Have you ever had a 9-5er?
I've had only a few jobs in my 25 years. I worked for 4 years in Winnipeg as a dish boy, worked for a week at Safeway cheese factory and since I moved to BC I've worked 2 happy years at Boston Pizza in Coquitlam.
Last words?
Never foget where you came from!
Want to say thanks to anyone?
A thanks list could get pretty long but I will try to keep it short. First off thanks to Brian and everyone at Volume and Demolition, they have taken good care of me since day one. Nate Hanson and everyone at Etnies for all the support, Dereck at Little Devil, Big thanks to Garett Louie at Time Bomb for all his help with Etnies and Dragon, Hank and Briget, to Dave Osato and Andrew Faris and everyone at Ten Pack, Everyone I ride with and everyone who buys my bike.

Comments
Rob (Sargent) Sigaty - Jason is one bad ass mother! His bike says it all: Destroyer, anything and everything.
Terrance Trent Darby (Ten pack distribution) - Jason is a good lookin' dude with style. He is a big city bastard.
Mark (Toast) Johnson - I like the way he talks, we have always had fun riding and hanging out. I'm not afraid to say if I had to go to jail I would like to be in the same cell as him.
Al Mohr (MacNeil Team Manager) - The 1st time I met Jason he was sponsored by another Canadian Bike company that I knew most of the guys from. Enns bike was stolen and apparently I was the only guy with the same "hard to get frame" so the owner of this shop asked me to lend it to him for a while, so I did cause I wasn't able to ride at the time.
