What's new in the world of pedal power? Well I could tell you about the Tour De France's new policy on
drug use, but I don't think any of you wear lycra often enough to care. So I'll just stick to BMX.
Phil Dolan put his brakes on again. Stopping is fun.
All the kids are asking "

Ever wonder what
Castillo is up to? Brian's been wearing his new signature shoe, The Castle (Duffs), for about a month now and is stoked about it. And being the busy bee that he is, he's going to be filming for another video soon. Yep,
Volume will be filming all summer long for a video sometime later this year.
Josh Heino is the brand-spanking new North American
WeThePeople team manager.
Simon Tabron is still/again broken. Ankle this time.
The
HARO BMX team, have finally received their new "No Fear" motocross uniforms. By all accounts, they look pretty good.
Dave Mirra will be on the
Tony Hawk tour this summer. The
Mirra Tour is taking a year off but should be back next summer. So don't cry little one, skateboarders are fun to watch too.
So, you want to see one of the best teams in BMX huh, why not check out the

In one more piece of summer tour related news, the
Osiris BMX team will be doing a couple of demos in the Northeast soon, as part of their Aftermath skate tour. Nifty riders like:
Jamie Bestwick,
Allan Cooke, Josh Heino,
Colin Mackay,
Dave Osato,
Jerry Bagley, John Jennings,
Mike Parenti, Brandon "Punjab" Pundai,
Tom Haugen, and Kip Williamson will join the skate team at the following two dates. Between the skate team and the BMX team, I wouldn't miss these demos if I lived nearby. However, since I live 3000 miles away, and nobody tours in the Northwest, I'll probably just learn California Hoppers or something this summer.

| B-Boy getting his freeze on in Seattle. |
And finally, there was a big
rave/bmx/skate demo in
Seattle the other weekend.
Chris Eiman once again put it all together. And this year was a lot better than last years. Instead of a 8-14 year old BMX race event (how would you like your 8 year old to be hanging out with tweaked out ravers) and a dirt jumping contest. There was a decent street course with a jump box, street spine and some nice quarters. The Seattle area crew was out in force and a couple of guys even made it down from Canada. Let's see, there were some nice gaps being pulled, tricky jump box acrobatics, weird 270 to tail to sprocket to 180 out stuff on the spine, you know, all of the cool stuff that riders try when they are just riding with their friends.
The rave part was a bit strange. For one thing, I think only a handful of people there were over 19. But I guess if I couldn't get into bars or clubs, I would be pretty stoked to go out and dance with cute girls. I probably wouldn't
dress up like a spaceman though. But all in all, everything went together well. The music was good (if you like DJ style music), no fights broke out, and there was free energy drink for all the riders. Yippee!
I'm sure a bunch of people switched their sponsors around, but nobody told me about it. I suggest you make up something and tell all your friends.
Rumors are fun to start. Here's one to get you going: Steve Crandall has sold FBM to Ford because they want to include a BMX option with the bicycle racks on the 2003 Ford Focus. Crandall is now retiring to Eugene, Oregon to hang out with all the rocker hessians there and heckle the skaters at the park.
That's all for now.
