Luc-e Gets a Signature Frame

John "Luc-e" Englebert and Rick Moliterno put their heads together to come up with Standard's newest frame, the Cashius.

When Standard's owner, Rick Moliterno offered Luc-e a signature frame, Luc-e's main request was to make the frame affordable. The outcome is the new Standard Cashius, which retails for only $249.

To keep costs on the Cashius down, Standard didn't cap the ends of the seat and chainstays where they weld to the dropout. High costs were also avoided by using a traditional rear triangle, and not piercing the top tube with the seat tube (similar to the Standard TRLS 250). Luc-e also wanted his pegs to mount flush with the bottom of the dropouts, so a 1/4" thick dropout with a smaller surface area was designed.

Of course, the Cashius wouldn't be Luc-e's signature frame if it wasn't available in yellow, but you can also get it in black.

Luc-e wanted the Cashius to be as affordable as possible, but he didn't want to cut corners when it came to material. That's why the seat and chainstays aren't capped.

Standard Cashius Geometry
Head tube angle: 74.5º
Seat tube angle: 71º
Top tube length: 20.5"
Chainstay length: 14.5"
Axle slots: 3/8"
Weight: 6 lbs., 14 oz.
Top tube: 1-3/8" O.D., .049" wall thickness
Down tube: 1-1/2" O.D., .058" wall thickness
Seatstays: 7/8" O.D., .049" wall thickness
Chainstays: 7/8" O.D., .049" wall thickness

Standard decided to forgo its trademark pierced top tube for a cleaner, more straightforward look, to save weight and money.
