Perspectives: Nate Hanson

To find out a little more about Nate, we thought it would be a good idea to talk to some of the guys that Nate rides with and hear what they had to say.

"Nate's the all-around guy at Fit. It's cool because he can ride any terrain super-good at any time. He also has a vast knowledge of computer-aided design, so he helps us get the Fit stuff designed to spec and how we want it every time. It's made getting the product done quickly a lot easier."
-Robbie Morales (Fit Bike Co.)

"Riding with Nate is awesome because he pulls so much from all areas of riding. Not only does he flatland, but he rides ramps, dirt, and street, so he puts it all together. It's really inspiring because he's always making up new stuff. It's fun to ride with him whether we're at Primo, Vans, or riding street."
-Robbie Morales (Fit Bike Co.)

"I've known Nate for about ten years. He's branched over really well into being a good street rider. He's super-smooth and super-tech. He needs to put two sets of pegs on his bike instead of one, and he needs to put his front brake back on--he's trying to be too cool. (Laughter) He needs to wash his pads, too. His pads stink bad all the time. He knows how to put good lines together in the park. He's super mellow and kicked back. He's a really good friend, if you ask me."
-John Povah (Schwinn Team Manager)

"It's hard to explain Nate. He's too creative and too talented. His tall and lanky style is too hard to explain for me. Maybe that's what I could explain. Every flatlander in the world that's turned into a street rider has always adapted well, and Nate's style comes from that. I like it. It's an original, fast, metal style, but flatland-tech at the same time. There are not too many riders like Nate, so it's hard to explain him."
-Troy McMurray (S&M)

"For someone that lives so slow, he rides faster than anyone I know. It's crazy to watch because he's so big, but he's so smooth. It's also refreshing to see that he came from slack-ass Southern California, but he still totally fires it. Nate has a million things going on, and he's able to keep up with all of them. I respect that. You can also say that we like to watch old romantic movie classics from the '60s together. (laughter)"
