Powell Bikes Redesigns Frames and Chases New Team Members

Scott Powell of Powell Bikes has some big changes planned for his company.

The flatland-only company has redesigned its frame just in time for summer. The most significant change is on the rear platform. The photos will do more justice than words, so check out the new design below.

The new frame has a top tube length of 19" and the chainstays are 13-1/2" to 15-1/4" long. The head tube angle is a steep 75.5 degrees for quick handling. Scott said that the frame weighs somewhere around seven pounds. Retail should be between $275-$300, and the frames will be ready soon.

In further Powell Bikes news, flatland legend Chase Gouin will be riding for the company as soon as a forced vacation from bike riding is over. Chase has tendonitis in his wrist and the doctor ordered him to stay off of his bike for two months. Chase's doctor said that if he doesn't take care of the situation now, he could be looking at a lifelong affliction. Chase should be back in action soon and riding one of the new Powell frames.
