The top three finishers at B3 in Louisville repeated at the X Trials in Grand Prairie, Texas. Also mimicking the B3 in Louisville was the wind, which once again delayed prelims, but this time they were able to make up all the planned runs today.

You know the competition is tough when Dave Mirra comes in fifth. Always a favorite to win, Mirra went big in his first run of the finals but bailed out on a flair about ten feet above the coping and landed hard at the bottom of the ramp almost completely missing the transition. He finished the run but it hurt his average score. His second run he came back strong with the crowd fully behind him but it wasn't enough to crack the top three.

Third place belonged to Simon Tabron, who landed his first 900 in competition this year. Simon attributes his success with the 900 by working with the man who built his reputation around it. "I got to do one of the tour dates on the Tony Hawk tour this year so I took that as an opportunity ... I worked out my problems so I'm psyched to get (the 900's) back in again."

Kevin Robinson took a more than respectable second place by pulling off a crowd/judge pleasing first run that included back to back 540's and back to back corkscrew flairs. His second run included a switch handed flair.

Bestwick proved he was best today by laying down two top-notch runs. When asked about how he feels about repeating this year gold medallist at the X Games, Bestwick, had this to say, "I'm getting ready for the X Games but I really wanted to win the overall series for the ESPN X Trials and B3 series. I've certainly creeped up the rankings for the past couple years and hopefully with what I've got under my belt this year I might just do it." Specifically, Jamie has two golds and a silver under his belt with just the X Trials in Bristol, CT and the X Games in Philly remaining.

New qualifiers to the X Games included Dennis McCoy and Kevin Robinson.
