NEAL WOOD
NickName: THE DEMON, WOODY
Born: CARLTON, NORTH YORKSHIRE GBR
Birthdate: 03/28/1971
Height: 5 ft 11 in
Weight: 200 lbs.
Hometown: HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA USA
Occupation: AA PRO RACER
Marital Status: Single
Participant since: 1983
Competitor since: 1984
Notable:
Neal Wood is one of the toughest XG DH athletes. In 2000, at the first VTC, he crashed so hard he compressed his L1 vertebra. He came back in 2001, though, and placed 6th at XG DH. Two weeks before XG VIII, Neal went down at the Ontario, CA ABA track during practice. He crashed fast and hard hitting the pavement hands first. Neal wasn't wearing any hand protection and "de-gloved" his left hand, tearing up his skin, tendons and ligaments. He still suffers slight pain and nerve damage, but he won't let that stop him from attacking the course XG '03.
