Sasha Warlow, an ex-junior racer from Hope, Idaho, reaped the benefits of the Paul Mitchell X-Qualifier, a last chance qualifier for WX '03. When veteran skiercross competitor, Gwen Abbott, let down her guard in one of the S turns, Warlow burled pass her like a freight train, sending Abbott into the protective fencing and ultimately out of the race. Warlow went on to finish third, snatching the last women's spot going to WX '03.
