"When I started competing in 1987, we had competitions in a nice park in Cologne [Germany], when it rained we had to compete under a bridge if we found one, or we'd not compete at all. If you placed top three you'd get a trophy and that's all. It was fun! Today we have huge competitions like the X Games. We have a schedule, we know the exact time when our competition will be and we know how much money we earn/win for a certain place. I like that. But after the contest we still go out and ride together just like we did 14 years ago and we have the same fun. It just gets a little hectic sometimes though, you definitly feel some kind of pressure with all the media and the sponsors."
