Notable:
Line was the number one pick to win Snowboarder X at WX V'02, but instead
she surprised the freestyle world by finishing fourth in Slopestyle against
some of the discipline's most talented women. 2003 would have marked the
release of her Santa Cruz pro model board, but Santa Cruz cut its entire
European team. Sponsor or no, Line was determined to progress.
Tragically, Line died on Sunday, September 19, 2004, in Santiago, Chile.
During an official practice session for the FIS World Cup Snowboardercross
series on Tuesday, September 14, she fell on a technical section of the
course and was admitted to the hospital. She suffered neck and head trauma
and remained unconscious until her death five days later. Line will be
missed by all.
Quote:
"Snowboarding in itself it is much more about combining everything. The different disciplines are challenging, but that's what snowboarding is to me, a little piece of everything that tastes good."
