Philippe Belanger did not post any podium finishes in 2002, but that hasn't diminished his reputation as one of the best pipe skiers in the world. Belanger was awarded one of two wild card spots for the SuperPipe at WX '03. He qualified for Slopestyle by taking fifth at the U.S. Open in Vail, CO.
